My body of work is characterized by a calm environment through my ceramic pieces and an abstract flow of colors and shapes through my paintings.
For me painting is fluid and it comes from a small idea that turns into something meaningful, whenever I paint I feel like I'm scratching an itch in my brain and I feel relieved as I'm
making moves and textures with my brush and tools on the canvas.

Ceramics on the other hand is delicate and makes time fly fast when I'm going slow. I use various techniques for my ceramics such as: coil building, slab building, pinch pot and wheel throwing.

I have recently been interested in combining my painting and my ceramics together, the way that I am achieving that is by building my own world called Mundo.

Angeliky Castrellon was born in 1999 in Miami, Florida but later raised in Panama City, Panama. Her nickname and current artist name “Kika” comes from her brother having trouble to pronounce her name while they were both little, since then Kika has been the nickname she has used with family, friends and as an artist.

Since her early childhood she was inspired to make art through crafts, poems, and writing. She grew up taking painting, drawing and crafts classes with the support of her family. She then graduated from high school and decided to pursue graphic design at an art school in Panama, Ganexa University of the arts. Later she moved back to Miami, to pursue a B.F.A in studio arts at Florida International University, where she is currently studying.

Through her knowledge of composition and design and with a creative ambition, she has developed a world that she displays through drawings, paintings, writing and ceramics. A world called “Mundo” which has now become the main subject of her artworks.
